happens regularly to my MacBook Air as well. Seems to me to be a bug. Restart
your Mac and everything should be as usual.

I have lost some of my beloved Apple sounds in Mail. I no longer hear my
e-mails going off with the woosh sound, nor do I hear the familiar blow sound
when my e-mails have finished downloading. I've not changed any settings. i've
searched for some clues in Mail's pref
