I've solved my problem.
It was a stupid problem that I should have noticed.
Had a sighted friend here and he said the skype input and output was
reversed.
I had soundflower set for the output

reversed.
I had soundflower set for the output not input in skype and the
internal microphone for the input.
reversed this and everything n
