I'm pretty sure those cards also have a lock slide but perhaps, they just
removed the cover so you couldn't make it right enabled.

I have a micro SD card that came as part of my Raspberry Pi starter kit. I want
to erase whatever OS they put on here and load straight Raspian, and to do that
I have to format the card. Oddly, though, when I do that, I get "erase process
has failed". I've never seen that happen before,
