When you're on a tweet from the person you want to dm, press the letter d.
Focus will move to an edit field. Type your DM, then hit return.

or type “d username message” in the edit field to direct message them. example:
d pay own hey michael how’s it going?
would direct message me. (note when direct messaging, don’t put the @ symbol
before the twitter handle)

Hi All,
I have another Night owl question. I want to send a direct message. What is the
best way to do this? I clicked on direct message on the menu bar. But, I could
not figure out how to tell who the message was going to. So any help would be
great!
