In a Finder window press command-shift-a to open the Applications
folder. Locate the application and press shift-command-t to add it to
the dock.

Hi, Jed,
Go to the applications folder and find the app you want. Then press
command-shift-t. Also, if one is open, you can find it in the dock, do a
VO-control-click, which is VO-shift-m, go to the options submenu, and choose
"keep in dock".
