You need to interact with the table and there's no need to turn cursor tracking
off. Press VO-Cmd-Space twice on the first file (the first time deselects it),
then use VO to navigate to the next one you want and press VO-Cmd-Space on

I am able to select messages in mail with vo command space after turning cursor
tracking off. Have no luck in finder though. I am using list view.
Any help with steps to take will be greatly appreciated.
