That's interesting. I've never removed all that information. Once I rebooted
everything, I had no problems, so I don't think you have to remove any of the
other info for it to work.

Ok I've just made a new tone and it worked as normal!
I'm not sure if you do this as well but after making the newACC version I go
into info and remove everything apart from the title!
And after doing that I find the Unknown album and it is where I find the track
before finding it in Fi

Yep, that's what I do as well. I'm encouraged that others think this should
still work, but completely flummoxed about why it isn't working for me.

OK when I make a tone I've always after changing to m4r gone back into iTunes
and deleted the music file from there 1st before playing the new ringtone!
I've not made one in a couple of weeks but it did go ok the last time!

Hi all,
So here is a more detailed explanation of how I create ringtones, and what's
happening.
I have always created ringtones by setting the start and stop position for the
chunk of the song that I want to use, create a file with that chunk of the
song, and then change the extension from M4a
