Ilene if you turn the preview pane off then that first column will tell you
unread or replied or the status in classic view of mail. You have to close the
preview pane to get this status read to you as I believe with the preview pane
open every time you go to a message it is considered as read s
I couldn't get drag and drop to work. I can't remember how I did it exactly
with just the keyboard. It has been a couple of years. Let me play with the
column order and see if I can figure it out.

I went to the classic view in mail and, for the life of me, cannot seem to
figure out how to make Mail tell me "Unread" as the first column. I tried drag
