As far as I know all Macs for many years have had the combo
optical/analog audio outputs. Great for hooking a Mac up to a
surround-sound AV receiver and the like. All Intel-based Macs have this
feature (2006 and newer) and I found some references even earlier for G5
Macs (2003) having this feat

I was always rather fond of the macbook pro speakers, do the different
current macbook air models have the seem ones or are they inferior? Do
the different airs have the seem speakers?
I know macbook pro has optical input and output, especially output owuld
be nice for me, is this also poss
