First off, if you haven't already found it, there's a new submenu in
the view menu that allows you to choose what you want the playlist
browser to show. You can check mark genre, artist, album, etc...
This will get the playlist browser to at least appear as it used to.

Ahh, there's the rub. No one will be able to explain it, because it
doesn't work. And for me, this problem began with Snow Leopard, not
with iTunes 9.
