I'm not dead certain of this but this is what may be happening:
I think Apple save Unix text files which means line end with just line feed.
Other OSs save files whose lines end with carriage return and linefeed.
If you want to bother, You might be able to search for carriage returns and
remove

I haven't tested it lately, but I was successful once in the doing this.
Believe it or not, the last time I did it, notes doesn't show the end of line
carriage returns and linefeeds. I even did it with a webr Braille file in notes
once.

It's driving me nuts too and it shouldn't be necessary! I don't get those with
brltty in terminal and I don't get them reading web braille books with the BARD
app. I have pointed out the problem to accessibility but maybe I should do it
again. It definitely detracts from using braille with voice

I’m trying to read braille files in textedit without seeing the end-of-line
markers. Is this a VO phenomenon, or are there some other programs which would
suppress these markers?
