to address the part about seeing hidden files the short answer is it’s very
difficult and you shouldn’t, having access to hidden files means you could
delete something important (example most folders have 2 hidden files telling
the finder specific information about said folder)

apparently the folders in the trash have something to do with my (weirdly
acting of late) external drive.
If i remove the drive i dont see the folders in the trash, i just see them if
it is plugged in. But, when enterin gthe drive i dont see a trash fodler. How
