I can’t remember if i used my Iphone or Ipad with Google meet.
I used my mac once but the interface seemed a bit klunky so i used the meet app
on my Ipad instead.
But it should work on your mac.
Have you launched the link in safari and checked the windows chooser or program

The purpose of this message is to describe a problem I had yesterday
when I tried to join a google meeting from my mac. I had never
experienced this problem before. For some reason, whenever I tried to
activate the link, safari was launch
