Hi,
maybe your download is too short for you to catch the button. If your
downloading a file that finishes in a few seconds, by the time you get to the
download button it will be gone.

I was just in Madrid last week (which is why I'm behind on email) and
pretty much had to abandon my iPhone for the week because the US AT&T
plan would have been cost prohibitive. I guess they way you can do it is
pay an extra $6 a month for their World Travler plan which gets you
reduced rates.
Hi Rebecca,
Assuming you've yet to upgrade your iPhone to OS v3.1, you could "jail
break" (unlock) the phone. However, such a move would be nothing
short of a cat and mouse game. Depending on how long you'll be on
this side of the pond, the anxiety may not be worth it. I should also
add
What provider do you currently have? I'm heading to Madrid next week and
I ended up just getting another phone for that period of time. The costs
for my iPhone AT&T US plan to use it overseas was crazy expensive per
minute and the data charges were worse. I'll still have my iPhone but
turn off
What are the dangers both technically and financially of doing this?
Please don't anybody write and suggest I get a roaming plan, ... I
havea three-year contract already and would like to keep costs as low
as I can. But I don't know anythig about unlocking a phone. Any
suggestions?

I agree, thats why I bring my questions here rather than trying to
search for answers. Everyone here is so knowledgeable and actually
uses it all. I just have to comment on Brahms and MandM haha, that is
too funny. As I write this, I'm listening to all my track 4's, and I
had Alice and Chains, and
Hi,
The only thing I'd like to add to Esther's great post is that if you
choose Shuffle Songs from the iPod's main menu or shake to shuffle,
all songs on the iPod are shuffled, regardless of their playlist,
unless you have set them not to be included when shuffling as Esther
describes.

Thanks very much. I think I learned more about iTunes from your email
than I had known before and I've been using it daily for more than a
year.

Hi Chris,
Shuffle playback uses whatever group you're in at the time you turn it
on as its basis for shuffling. So in iTunes on your Mac, if you select
your Music playlist in the sources table, turn on the file browser
(Command-B), select a genre or artist, and press the "Do Not Shuffle"
Ha! I sympathize, Chris! I have very ecclectic taste in music, so
frequently have this experience when using Shuffle. If you find a way
to keep it from happening, please do let me know.
Take care,
Donna

I use smart playlists for most of my music (over 7000 songs) and think
they are tremendously interesting. First off, before you set rules,
assuming you will have more than one, it is usually best if you switch
the combo box that says "All" to "Any" as that will resolve a lot of

Nice, got my 4 playlist ;) I think my main issue with all this is not
knowing what all the rules mean, what all the options mean, you know?
Plus, I wasn't just making the rules, stopping interaction, and
hitting enter. I thought I had to figure out all these things...so now

Hi ladies,
Ok, this is helpful. But, my dad had seaid something about creating a
playlist with all songs beginning with "T" or the like. I thought it
would be fun to create a playlist with all number 4 tracks...just to
see what comes up, what gets combined. I don't necessarily want the
same genre
Hi,
Sorry, I thought Fandi's quesiton came through the Portable Players
list, not the Mac list. Sorry for the Windows directions, randi.

Hi Randi,
When you open the Smart Playlist dialog, focus isn't on the first
item. Press Shift-tab until you reach the Match the Following Rule
check box. Be sure that it is checked, and press Tab once to a combo
box where you choose the criterion you want to match, such as artist,

Hi everyone,
I know I'm asking lots of iTunes/iPod questions, but I get the most
useful information from ya'll, so I've just given up searches. I don't
understand this smart playlist thing. I click create playlist and it
asks me for all these guidlines, but no matter what I pick, it says
