Its just a copy and paste job.
Copy the WAV file and open up Garageband. Make sure you are at the beginning
of the timeline or, where ever you want to place the track and press command V
to paste. Thats all. Your file is imported into the Garageband project.

I am interested in using garabe band to create a mp3 file. I have some
audio which is currently available as a .wav file. what steps are
needed to import this file into garage band, edit it, and then export
it as an mp3 file for upload to a website.
any assistance would be appreciated
