Hello Sarai,
If you would prefer your apps to close all the windows when you quit them, go
into System Preferences and select the General pane. Look for Restore windows
when quitting and re-opening apps and uncheck the check box. That will get rid
of your problem once and for all.

new document. You can also quit with option-command-q to clear all of the
document windows as well.

When ever I open Pages or Text edit, it opens the last document I was in. How
can I open a blank document?
