OK, I re-read this message and perhaps the original writer was hoping to
permanently delete the songs in the playlist.
If they can reproduce the selector used by the Smart Playlist in the search
panel that at that point, one should be able to delete the items.

As Jonathan mentioned, the Smart Playlist is based on search criteria that you
defined to have specific songs added to that playlist. So, if you don't wish
the current songs to be in that Smart Playlist, either delete the specific
Smart Playlist, or edit the criteria to have it select new
