As the Stream has exports a generic "external mass storage" device
profile, why can't OSX just recognize it as an external hard disk and
let one copy files to and from it using Finder?

Hi Jon,
I just tried it. I have no trouble connecting the Stream on the Mac
side, but when I connect it focused on Windows (running via Fusion) I
hear, "Welcome to Victor Reader" and nothing else, and get a message
about an unrecognized USB device. Most annoying since you have to use

Anna,
Have you tried with the new OSx upgrade? There were some fixes for
this type of issue supplied with it.

Hi Chris,
Were you able to find out anything from your Humanware connection
about why the Stream has trouble connecting to Windows on a Mac
running Fusion?
Thanks a lot,
Anna

Hi Chris,
When I connect the Stream on the Windows side and turn it on, the
Stream says, "Welcome to victor Reader" and starts to say "Player
connected," but the message is interrupted in the middle, or sometimes
isn't spoken at all. Then usually a little while later a dialog comes
up in
so let me ask you this:
when you connect the stream, do you hear the hardware inserted sound?
reason i'm asking, i didn't have trouble doing this. the first time it
didn't work at all. second time it worked fine. third time was same as
first time.
I am guessing the stream uses a different mass
Hi Chris,
I appreciate your trying to help me connect my STream to virtual
Windows XP. In case it makes any difference, I can connect the Stream
just fine on the Mac side, so that means there's probably nothing
wrong with my stream, my cable, or the USB port.
Best,
Anna

Hi, there is a setting in fusion to determine whether usb devices are
automatically connected, or if you must manually select to connect
them from the menu, you can change this in the usb device settings.

I have had no problem with connectiong my Victor Stream to my
Macintosh that is not running windows. there is even a small program
called iStream that can assist with putting files in the correct
directories on the Stream.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your message. I confirmed that the USB settings are set as
you recommended, and in the process learned that you must be focused
on the virtual machine when connecting your device to get it to work,
which seems obvious, but I hadn't realized. However, when I connect

Hi Anna:
open fusion, then press command e for the settings for your virtual
machine, there is buttons for battery, printer, and so on. there is a
usb devices button, make sure that the inable usb 2.0 is checked, and
connect usb devices is also checked.
Hope this helps

Hello,
I have installed System Access on the Windows portion of my Mac (I'm
using Fusion). It is running fine, and I would like to be able to use
it to send DVS movies to my victor Stream. However, When I connect my
Stream and turn it on, the Stream doesn't say "Player connected," but
