I personally scale my VO verbosity back pretty far. I've found that the single most effective way to speed VO up is to have it announce "nothing when typing. This has the disadvantage that the spellcheck while you type feature isn't s useful, but spell-checking solves that well enough. • Ma

Hi Bearfooted Ray: I'm probably not telling you anything new. But, try monkeying around with verbosity, hints, and also you can change from announcing typed characters to words. I find when set to characters, VO often just skips a letter I've typed, leaving me to wondr if it actually got there

Hi, I've noticed that, as I become faster with my Mac, Voice OVer seems to lagg behind my key presses. Sure, I could use the control key to silence speech, but, to me, that's not quite good enough. I'd like Voice Over to be much more reactive to other key presses rather than trying to tell me
