Hi Mary. I think all the dimmed items in the audio sources list are like
headings. For example, the first item in my list is applications, which is
dimmed, followed by all the apps I've used with airfoil in the past.

Well, maybe I spoke too soon. I see two system audios in the audio sources
listing, and the first one is dimmed, but the second is not. That leads to the
question of why this choice should appear twice in the audio sources menu.

I just checked and system audio is dimmed as an audio source. I definitely did
install sound flower. The first time I tried it, I got an error, so had to
retry and then it installed ok. Any ideas why system audio should be dimmed?

Hi Mary. The way to make this work is to have airfoil transmit the system
audio to your airport express. This should be the last option in your airfoil
sources list. You do need to have sound flower installed, but this isn't the
option you pick, system audio is what you want.
