It should be yes, but I’ve always been using it to boot into windows. It’s just
a workaround for me since I’ve gotten so use to using the bootcamp control
panel and setting startup disc.

Yeh this should only be and issue on the mac’s with ssd as it’s related to the
apfs file system so any any. Machine still running with a spindle drive should
still ork for you.

Disconnect any external drives. If you have an idea how many startup
disks there might be, then do the startup with the option key and arrow
right once. If more than two, try again and arrow right twice. Etc.

So I found out the hard way. Apparently, if you’re running mac OS high sierra,
the bootcamp control panel does not recognize the mac OS partition as a valid
startup disc. When I tried to boot in to mac, the only option available was the
windows partition.
