I'm still using Snow Leopard. I just reduced all the track pad speed sliders to 0, went through and unchecked all the shortcuts. I feel sorta bad doing this, as I rather liked the multitouch feature, but the hardware itself is malfing. I don't know if this will last past a reboot, or if reduc

Hi. At one point in time you could turn off the trackpad by turning on mouse keys and telling the machine to ignore the trackpad while mouse keys were on. On both of the Mac Laptops I've owned, the ignoring option doesn't stick after a reboot. I haven't tried this yet in Lion however. HTH. On 20
