On a related note, is there a voice on iOS or Mac OS that is more battery
efficient or more responsive? I haven't found a way to measure this. VoiceOver
doesn't show up in the battery status.

I'm with you, Scott regarding Alex. That's my go to voice for English. If I had
access to neospeech James, I would go there. But that's not an option not on
the Mac and not on iPhone or android, unless you use voice dream on your iPhone
of course.

That’s so subjective, everyone has a different ear. I’m an Alex man myself but
you have many of the other voices available like the English high quality
voices including UK and Australian versions. The Tom voice isn’t bad, it
sounds like you’re at the airport, the automated voice with the anno

Phil, it depends on how many voices you’re pulling down. I’ve seen this take
from 30 seconds on the fast side to over an hour on the slow. I would wait a
while longer and see if you get anywhere.
I’m also assuming your downloading these over a normal provider and not
cellular service. Some s
Hey there Phil.
So, yes… I definitely have seen this take over an hour. It’s rare, but I’ve
actually seen it take up to a couple of hours. That said, the waiting to
download shouldn’t take that long.

I've set several voices to download in the voice over utilities, but they seem
to be stuck in the "waiting to download"status. Is it normal for them to be in
the hold status for an hour or more? I have my MacBook air on power with Wi-Fi
connected.

Yes. After doing the clean install and putting Infovox voices back,
I selected the desired voices, Samantha is the only one who is a no show.
Hmmm, I went back in and made Samantha the default and now she is in
the rotor. Strange as I did not have to do this with the Infovox voices.
Now
