Yes, you don't need to do vo shift M. Just find the check box, and vo space
bar on it, and you should be good to go.

Yes, go back to internet settings, and highlight the account, vo right, and
there should be a check box for enabling mail. It might ask you for the
password, but since it is in your keychain of internet accounts, it may not.
