Wy would one need two different methods for apps and other items?

If you would like to move an application to the doc, open the app, find it on
the doc, use VO shift M to bring up a menu, open the options submenu and select
add to doc.
If you want to have a folder on the doc, highlight the folder and use command
shift T to add it.

Hi Tracy, i'm assuming you're wanting to do this on the mac. IF you want to
put anything on the doc, find the folder, application, or whatever it is you
want to put on there, and hit command shift-t, hope this helps.
