Drag & drop was a nice vo concept. However it is very inconsistent with
keyboard commands. Are there gestures one can use on the trackpad that will
make it work with better consistency?

I have tried copying the podcast, but the podcast will not copy from the trash
and I cannot move it to the ITunes folder.

Try copying it first to downloads or documents. Then move it to the
iTunes library.

Could you jsut copy the podcast from the Trash and move it to the podcasts
folder in your iTunes folder in Finder? It seems that is less stress than
fighting with drag and drop.

Hello.
We've visited this subject many times but today, I tried getting a podcast out
of the trash.
I can select the podcast by doing command option comma but can't find the keys
to drag. Please could someone tell me how to drag please? Using Mountain Lion.
Thank you in advance.
Kawal.
