You have to set this up yourself.
I have done this in Keyboard Commander, in my case I can now hit right option A
and it toggles speech on and off.
You have to make sure you select the right toggle in keyboard commander, you
want mute speech rather than muting all sound.

Hi,
Is there a keyboard shortcut because I don't have access to my track pad
as it is bluetooth and truthfully I don't even know if it is functional.

Hello Chris,
To unmute speech. A three finger double tap on the trackpad will toggle.

I have a slight problem.
I have a mac mini 2009 that is running Yosemite.
When I start voiceover, it says voiceover on, speech off.
How do I turn speech back on?
Thanks
Chris
