Make sure you are running the most recent update of iOS and macOS, on all of
your devices.
That will be a problem, because your iPhone 6 cannot run the current version of
iOS.
Depending on which Mac mini you have, that could be a problem with the mini as
well.

Bill,
No, what you do is to press Command+comma when you have the messages app open.
Then you’ll find preferences specific to the app. This holds for many of the
apps on a Mac.

Seeral thoughts, was sink Messages in iCloud checked? Are you signed into the
same iCloud account? Also, on your phone, make sure your Mac shows up in
message forwarding. You will find that under messages (Yes, this one is
messages) under settings on your iPhone.

Not System preferences. Open the Messages app then do a command
comma to bring its own preferences.

The problem is that messages that have been deleted from my iPhones tend to
remain on the Mac. I did open the Messages Toolbar on my Mac and selected the

Just checked the toolbar for the messages app on Monterey OS. Only three items
are General, iMessage, and Shared with You. What OS are you referring to?

Check your message preferences. In Messages, do a Command Comma, Look for the
toolbar and interact. You want the Messages option. You will find options to
sink, and I would also try the Sink now button.

I’m running into an issue with the Messages app where messages on all my
devices (Mac Mini, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone 6) when I compose and send said
messages. This is fine, but when I delete a message or message conversation on
my iPhones they are not removed from the Mac Mini.
