Dunno why but it's available on Amazon for $123:
http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Garageband-Jam-Pack-Orchestra/dp/B0008GLGRM
At that price you might just find it worth it to buy Mainstage 2 which I
believe gives you the right to download all the jam packs (about 20GB)
for free. Quite a deal at $30
Or maybe it's another way of pushing you into buying Logic Pro. Problem is, if
Logic Pro isn't accessible, I have zero incentive other than the packs. Gr.

This is a great question. Honestly, I haven't a clue. They haven't updated or
added a new jam pack in maybe 5 or 6 years. It could mean they are coming out
with something new or, they are scrapping the entire project. Besides finding
some retailer who still has some copies, you would have to
Hi Ricardo,
That was another question I wanted to ask. Why in a world Apple would
stop selling them? I am sure they know the reason. :)
I have to see if I can find them somewhere for a discounted price.
Wouldn't want to pay full only to learn that something new is to come
out in the next few months
Hi Chris, thanks for the info.
Right now, I am still using sonar under Windows xp for my audio needs but I
would like to transfer my work flow to the mac as soon as I can.
Gb seems to be a good starting point for now.
Will see.

Hi Ricardo,
I wonder why Apple stopped selling them. Do you think they plan to release
something better? Having those jam packs has so vastly improved my GB
experience that I can't imagine being limited to GB without them. I hope
they're not trying to push everyone into Logic without making sure
Hi,
I believe apple stopped selling them bought, you might be able to find it on

Hi Nektarios,
I am using midi for the instruments. My interface is an MAudio Key Studio 49
key model. It works very well, and it has buttons to change octaves of the
instruments. For the voice, I'm using a Blue Yeti USB microphone which has

Hi Chris. I also like your stuff there. Do you mind sharing some more
information about your setup?
Are you using midi to do this and what audio interface do you have connected to
your mac?
Regards.

Hi Kawal,
I messed around with Garage Band some last summer, but found it pretty limiting
without a keyboard. Others may disagree, but my take is that if you want to do
much, you'll want a keyboard.

I like a lot of "world" music, so went for the world jam pack first. But I'm
looking forward to getting the symphony jam pack.

I'd like to know is Jam Pack some kind of software? I've not played with

Hi,
In my opinion, its the most diverse, and best sounding jam pack. It is
probably my rap bias speaking though. lol.

Hi Kawal,
The voices are those of my kids. They wanted to sing for their grandparents, so
I put some songs together on GarageBand for them. Kyle does Chiron Beta Prime,
Kahlan does Hippopotamus and DD does The Pretty Little Dolly.

You're welcome, Donna.
It was fun creating those tracks, and it does give you a wide representation of
what GB can do, one song being rock, one more marching band or orchestral and
one purely piano. By the way, the piano one used the Steinway piano, but I
forget what jampack it was from.
Friend
Thanks for sharing that, Chris. As one who's just starting to get into GB,
it's fun to see what others have done.
Happy New Year,

Hi Victor,
If you want to hear some of what that pack can do, check out

You want the file titled "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.mp3."
I used the brass section, the bass, orchestral percussion, clarinets section,
bassoon, English horn and piccolo.

Hi Vic,
I do own this Jam Pack and I quite like it. I am especially impressed with the
string and woodwind instruments, and the percussion section has a lot of
variety. I am certainly glad I bought it.
