The Character Preview is more for the sighted user in my opinion, as it is
where the character "key" you type visually enlarges for a second as you type
it, popping up on your screen so you can know for sure w
I believe this has to do with the “Slide to Type” feature, and my guess is that
when enabled, a slide to type character is previewed before it is actually
typed into the edit field area.
This would not be the same as “Show Lowercase Keys”, which changes the
key-labels on the keyboard to corresp
OK Brad,
I fully believe you here, but the question was what is the on/off field :

IOS 14.6 in Settings:General:Keyboard between smart punctuation and period
shortcut.

confirm without bugging
I believe this feature is called “Show Lowercase Keys”.
It is found in Settings > Accessibility > keyboards.
When enabled, it changes the Key-labels on the iOS software keyboard, to
reflect whether the Shift/Caps Lock key has been pressed.

off. That will stop the suggestions from coming up. And then, if you also turn
slide to type off, that should make your life a whole lot
Hello Lorie,
It sounds like you are experiencing something called slide to type.
You may wish to turn this off, if it is giving you issues.
1. Go into your settings app on any iOS device.
Step 2.
Go under the keyboard settings, under general.
Step 3.
Switch the “Slide to type“ button to off. It’
Maybe there isn't. I was just hoping. it's not a problem unless the app I'm
using won't let me use braille screen input which sometimes happens.

Hi Lori,
With touch typing, the letter isn’t entered until you lift your finger. That
enables you to move your finger around the keyboard until you find the letter
that you want. With direct touch typing, whatever you touch is activated. So
you have to be able to place your finger much more pre
I did that and it worked. thanks.

something’s messed up. In my experience, powering your phone off and on will
usually fix weirdness like that.
