Okay, I can give that a try, but 1) it's very quiet here, next to no ambient
noise and 2) I don't have this problem on my cell, and the mic is not muted
there. Maybe the mic in my Macbook is much more sensitive than the one in my
cell though.

I have seen this also and have to admit
it takes a little timing and listening to get the number pressed right
skype may have some sort of filter that causes this but im not sure
you not alone though if that makes ya feel better!

It might help to mute your mic while dialing. My experience indicates
that background noise during Skype dialing can make it difficult or
impossible for the other end to figure out what numbers you're

Just look down the screen when you have a call active and you will notice a
check box for "toggle Dial pad". Check this and the dial pad will become
active. You should now be able to enter tones while in a call. If you make a
