I never thought about going into the virtual machine window and choosing

to think of it, I never heard the new hardware sound from Windows when I
connected it. Not even after I chose Windows from the choices when Voi
Yes, but it is still not working correctly. I have sent out a message to
Duxbury. They will hopefully get back to me tomorrow.

Should I have chosen Windows or Mac for this?

Well then, do the install on bootcamp. You can always virtualize your bootcamp
pratician and use it that way, but you can not turn a virtual machine into a
bootcamp partician.

Duxbury and the Juliet Classic work perfectly under Windows 7 with
the cable I bought from Enabling. They have also told me that this will
only work on the Mac using Bootcamp. I have no desire to do this install
twice once I find a Windows 7 disc.

The issue in that case is windows seven compatibility, not virtualization. To
find out if your old enabling embosser is windows seven compatible, email the
serial number to enableing support and ask.

If so, you can easily correct this by going to fusion’s menu bar, control
option M.
Open the virtual machine menu.
Open the usb menu.
press enter on the option which says connect usb printer port or words to that
efect. It will vary by make and model of cable most likely.
You’ll then here the
Includimg old Enabling Technologies embossers? This IS the sticking
point. I do not think some of us wish to try two separate installations
just to see which works and which does not. Its fine if you know what
you are doing and cna fool around with it.

I use VMWare Fusion myself running windows 7 and I am working with unusual
USB devices quite a lot. I have never come accross a single device which
failed to connect to the VM.

No, that isn’t right. You may have an incompatible cable, but it shouldn’t
matter whther you run fusion or bootcamp. In fact, you can run bootcamp
particians as virtual machines.
I’ve found virtualization to be a very convenient excuse for people who don’t
know systems besides windows.

Hello,
You need to call Duxbury support at 978-692-3000. Before deleting Windows in
Bootcamp, I had my Juliette Pro 60 running just fine with Duxbury. I believe I
sent you an email with a link in it on how to set up a generic text printer in
the devices/printer dialog in Windows. I also have a
Well, according to tech support from Enabling Technologies, the only way it
will work is if I uninstall Windows and Fusion, and reinstall it using boot
camp. The tech support says the embosser will only work in boot camp. This is
really disappointing, and a major flaw of using fusion.

Hi, these USB to parallel adapters are actually printer port adapters. This
means that they connect a centronics printer to your USB host. They do not
- and they can not - simulate all aspoects of a parallel interface. a
classical parallel interface allows for port level IO which is simply not
Left a message yesterday for support at Enabling Technologies. Haven’t heard
back from them yet. May have to try calling support at Duxbury Systems though.

Some of these adapters work and some don't, while embossers made before a
certain date won't work on 7 no matter what cable you have. Don't be shy to
call support.
