out the house. So, All of the effect menu was greyed out and I had to use my
best guess on what would be a quick and dirty lowpass filt

thanks for your help, one thing I hate about the apple filters is that for
certain ones like the low pass you can't change settings and even worse there
are no presets.

There are a couple of items in my audacity that look like they might do the
trick. Apple AU low pass apple AU low shelf filter, and possibly one of the EQ
or noise remover plugins has a setting for that.
