I love the quality of the iphone sure it is mono but the quality is christal
chear. In fact I'm doing a podcast on the weather app onthe iphone's weather
app, on the iphone. It records in m4a and i can if need be edit it in amadus.

44.1 KHZ is old news circa 1988 or so. It's all about 96 and 192 KHZ now on 6

Honestly, 44.1 is a little slow on the sample rate side. Old man Niquist bites
you in the back side at the high end of the frequency range. You want at least

I think the recording quality is quite good. I recorded a podcast using the
voice memo app that comes on the iPhone. I am using an iPhone 4. You can

I've heard the iphone and I am not impressed with it's sound quality. My
Samsung has much better quality imho. So this is one I think you need to judge
for yourself.
