I suspect the reason that you can't set up the VO pronunciation editor to speak
emoticons for ":D" (colon d form big smile) and "<3" (less 3) is that you could
get potential confusion in situations where you are normally typing with colons
or in mathematical

Well I'm afraid I tried that and had no luck either. The only things that
comes to mind is that the colon D must be given another meaning in one of the
other emoticons in the table. I keep landing right back in the table. Also,
VO will not let me view individual characters in the text
It's in the VO utility. Under speech, than Pronunciation.

I have been attempting to create a labeled pronunciation for :D for over a

Like you, I can create labeled pronunciations for most everything else. I'd
