Hi Marlaina!
Sorry I did not know that burn button had gone! :]
Ok you can select tracks 1, 3 ,6 ,12 but its a bit messy!
I find [ for me ] it is faster just to pick each track and add it to playlist
with vo+shift+m menu! Only if you have say up to 6 or 7 tracks to pick!

You can use the non-contiguous selection process to choose items 5, 7, 9 and so

If I understand what you wrote here, once I select the tracks I want, I can do
a vo shift m and select the playlist to add them to?
Also, what if I want tracks 5 7 9 and 11, but not all the other tracks; can I
do that some how?

Hi Marlaina, Colin, and Others,
The dedicated button to burn to CD or DVD was removed in iTunes 10.
You can find the option in the context menu for your playlist if you
don't want to navigate to the File menu on the iTunes menu bar. You
can also select the playlist you want to add songs to from t
Hay Colin,
I never could find the burn to cd button as you instructed below. I always
have to make a playlist, select the songs for the playlist, copy and then paste
them into the playlist. Then I go to the file menu and select burn playlist to

Hi Tim.
Yes, I am delighted that I can play my music via apple tv. Only reason I burn
a few CD's is to have good music for working out on my treadmill, which is
nowhere near my apple tv.
I will try your directions for changing my views in iTunes. I really
appreciate all the help.

O
Marlaina,
You can do a number of things so that you don't have to scroll through all your
songs.
1. use the Search field.
• Select the Music item from the Sources List.
• Stop Interacting With it.
• Navigate once left to the Search field.
• Enter the album name.
• It should only show you songs
Err Umm no, I don't think so. How do I do that? I can't seem to find anything
called album view.

Collin,
I am struggling so with iTunes! When I am in iTunes, I see only individual
songs not album names. I'm going to try your suggestions though and see where
I end up! Learning all this is like exploring a great and wonderful treasure

Hi Marlaina,
I'm not sure what the situation was like a couple years ago, but I think iTunes
always allowed people to burn their music onto a CD, if maybe only a limited
number of times. However, as of January 2009, iTunes removed drm protection
from all of the music that they sell. You can bur
Hi Marlaina,
To burn an album to CD, I would first create a playlist with the songs I wish
on the CD:
1. Search for the album name.
2. Check the songs it found, if OK then go to #3.
3. Press cmd-a for Select All.
4. Press cmd-shift-n to Create Playlist from Selection (also under the File

Hi Louie,
Yes you are correct. Think of it this way, why do we lock our cars? The
regular run-of-the-mill thief will be stopped by a locked door but a

the car in a matter of seconds. So, then why do we have DRM y

Hi Marlaina!
Just pick one of the albums you want to burn to disc, and open it then select
all with command+ a, then stop interacting with the song list and scroll left
and you should be given a option to make audio disc or burn to disc button just
put in a blank disc and vo+space and away it sh
Ok, how do I do it then? Sorry, I am really really struggling with iTunes and
we just bought the apple tv and now I can't figure out how to tell iTunes to
use my netgear file server as the base for my library, and I can't figure out
how to burn albums to cd. I'm glad to know the latter can be
And you can rip the CD to mp3.
So the question is why have DRM?

Hi Marlaina,
Your husband is incorrect. Not that I like to contribute to the cause of
husbands being so often incorrect, but, he is in this case. When you burn
purchased audio to an audio CD, it will play just fine in any home or
automobile player. The only restriction is if you try to burn
Umm, err, wow, this is advertisement in its best form. Might I respectfully
suggest that if you want me to buy something, you send me a private note and
tell me more about why I'd want to buy this book, your credentials as authors,
etc.? I am not flaming here, I just get frustrated seeing ads
