Hello Chris, Yes, I saw that message but didn't understand what the script did. So didn't know if it applied to the say command. Hence my question to the list. Quite a few people assured me that the say command works. Are you saying it doesn't any longer? Thanks. Gena Please Note: Please use

Hello Gena, Why not use the Add to iTunes as a Spoken Track command? It's by far the simplest way to do it. Cheers, Anne On 23 Jul 2013, at 17:45, Georgina Joyce wrote: > Hello Alex, > > I'm confused, I asked about using the say command as I want to pass a text > document to be converted i

It certainly can, and I don't know why you'd be getting that error. You might also try that command to run Applescript commands in the terminal, I believe it's OSA. That way, you could pass that command "tell VoiceOver to say "my text"" and VO should speak the text instead of the default voice. On

It works on my machine too; just tried it. Yes, you could use the say command in shell or apple scripts for audible messages or prompts or whatever. I noticed it uses the system voice at default speeds which is slower than what VO does on my setup. On Jul 22, 2013, at 1:40 PM, Alex Hall wrote:
