I can’t see why it would stop you repartitioning in disk utilities if your
doing things correctly.
I’d happily take it off your hands if you don’t want it!

Hi,
In Disk Utility, make sure that the 5 TB Seagate item is selected. Select
Partition from the ToolBar. Choose one partition from the number of partitions
menu and make sure that the format is set to MacOS Extended (Journaled). Press
the Options button and make sure it is set to a GUID Par
Can you give us some more information please? What steps did you take to erase
the disk?
