I went all through the stuff under file and did not find this option. I was
able to have them appear after going down pages to preferences I clicked
something and the next thing I knew there they were! I’ve only had my mac since
August so I am sort of flying by the seat of my pants.

i am going to assume your running pages, correct?
if so then when you open a new blank document go to file and arrow down to show
templets and you will find it in there
