When I did it I had to use command+space. I can change it according to System
Preferences, but the default was command+space. Am I missing something?

in the Siri pain of system preferences. Results can actually be pinned to the
notification centre and not the clipboard.

never noticed cards like you say but then I've not used Siri on the Mac much,
only because I can't seem to press option space as a space gets put in to a
document or an e-mail that I might be writing.

Yes especially pinning your results to the notification centre, something that
can’t be done with Siri on any other platform at this time.
