Hello,
I was doing this with command-F while in a finder window. Once you have a
selector picked, you should be able to find a radio button group to select
entire computer, home directory or current folder.

In the folder, do a VO left which should land you on the Kind
button. This groups the different file types. .zip would likely then be
the last group in that folder.

The problem I have is restricting it to a specific folder. If I use
command+spacebar, I can't do this, but it doesn't seem to work if I do the
command=option+f command either. How do you just get it to look in the fokder
you are in currently?

If you type "zip" into the search field and then press down arrow a couple of
times you should find a menu item for zip archive. Also note that unlike Unix
and Google searches, apple meta data searches can accept partial words.

You can always use the find command. For example, if I'm in my home directory
and I want to search the Downloads directory for zip files:
Find Downloads -name "*.zip"

Try using *.zip for your search,
I must admit though I can't remember what they use in unix as a wild card
anymore,
Windows uses * though and it should have a similar state in what you are using.

1. Command-f in the desired folder. When you do this, focus will be on the
search field in the toolbar.
2. Stop interacting with the toolbar and move vo to the search section. Make
sure that the radio button option to search the folder is selected.
3. Move vo to the search criteria. If you
If you meant to type *.zip it did not come though that way.
