I know with the my update to 10.10 and xCode a bunch of packages failed
due to some kind of clang update and one of the forums said to pretty
much remove and reinstall all the packages. I guess the scorched earth
approach always works but it depends on what kind of errors you are getting.

us to know.
OK, A screen dump of "sudo port -v selfupdate" would give an idea what is going
on..Of course, you could reinstall everything which might be quicker. But what
if exactly the same fault occurs?
