First of all, it appears that getting a full-sized one wouldn’t solve the
problem. In the discussions I saw on the internet, both devices were
mentioned. Second, when we’re in the kitchen, we’re usually also doing other
things, so there’s no real need to spend the money for full-sized HomePod.

Speaking personally if I ever reach that level of need, that they are not
sold in pairs automatically will either insure I get them, or skip the

We had one full-sized HomePod in the kitchen, which served as our primary hub,
and another in the family room. We decided that in the kitchen we could do
with just a mini, and that would allow us to move the kitchen HomePod to the
Family room and create a stereo pair.
