I use the program Mars Edit for my blogging.
In a post I can select a word, right click it, click the Format option
and add a URL.
I did a few links to YouTube videos the worked just fine but when I
tried to link strait to my channel at www.youtube.com/eyelessguy1987 it didn't

Could you supply the code you're using to create the links? It's a bit
difficult to help you without it.
