That didn't really work. Cmd+C didn't really copy the region. When I pasted, it
just re-pasted the track I had already pasted into GarageBand, so it doubled
the entire track.

Hi,
Find the region you want to duplicate after you've split the regions like
you've already don, then just press command c to copy it to the clipboard.
Then Paste it where ever you want.
