The All Mail is your Archived mail folder. Basically, its the folder you save
mail in on GMail's site. Wasn't sure if ya'all knew, so thought I'd chip in.

I did so, but then when I delete a mail, from (let's say) the
Macvisionaries folder/label, it only removes the label, and the mail is
still on the server - in

I tried both of this, but under the Mail behavior, one can't set wich
folder to use for trash purpose.
In the mailbox menu, there is no option called "use this mailbox for" :(
Both of you are using the latest Snow Leopard 10.6.2?

Another thing to try is, with your gmail account's trash folder selected, go to
the mailbox menu, go down to "use this mailbox for" and in that submenu hit
return on trash.

Maybe I was a bit unclear in my previous mail.
I am using IMAP on the Mac.
The problem is that Mail.app on the Mac creates a new folder to move
deleted mail to instead of using the "original" one that Gmail uses.
Isn't there any place to setup this - like there is in Thunderbird?
