worked in this specific situation and stopped the modification of iCloud files

On the Mac, in iCloud Pref pane, sign out of iCloud then sign back in with your
new Apple ID. Check also in both iTunes and the App Store. If your old ID is
still signed in, then sign out of each Store then back in with the newer Apple
ID. That should do it.
