Right one character - Right Arrow;
Left one character - Left Arrow;
Right one word - Option-Right Arrow;
Left one word - Option-Left Arrow;
Go to the end of the line - Cmd-Right Arrow;
Go to the beginning of the line - Cmd-Left Arrow;
Go to previous line -

Character by character is just the left or right arrows. Word by word is option
left or right arrow. For the visuals open the VO utility (VO F8) and look under
the visuals category.

Option-left/right should do the trick. This is a system-wide OS X keyboard
shortcut to move word by word.
