I'll Skype you at your convenience and walk you through it, if I can. Or, I
can add you if I knew whom to add. From what you're writing, I can't
understand why, if you have an account on Skype, as it seems you do, you can't

Well Kirsten, like I told you before. You don't want to try to learn eveything
all at once. It just aint gonna happen. With regard to Skype. to make a call,

Hi,
Is it the one referred to as Computerchatter?
That has "Skype English" in the subject fields. But Computerchatter is its
name. Just want to be sure, unless you can obtain an address.

Hi,
I'll try that, thanks. :) Sadly, Skype support wasn't any help for the second
time. I'll give that list a shot. I'm just a bit disappointed.

Hi,
Well, using the command "join" when you can't use the regular invite feature
when someone is not calling you from Skype menu seems to cause some serious
symptoms. Of course, the "join" command is only to add someone to the call who
is already calling you, but after use, the following happen
Have you presented your problem to the skype english list? I don't have a
subscribe email handy and I'm the mod? lol. but google skypeenglish and you
should come up with it.
Take care. and maybe someone the can help out.
Take care and good luck.

it did not work. he could not hear us and we could not hear him. I'm hoping it
was his his end that was causing this.

Hi,
I don't think it's Clisk, since it only enables you to use Skype through a
command line interface, and allows additional features such as joining a call.
That is not implemented into the GUI for some reason. I haven't always been
using Clisk, and I've always had the problem. All I know is
Hi Nic.
I've never had this issue. It might be Clisk which cause this issue, but I'm
not sure. I'm running the latest version of Skype...

Hi,
I've just never liked how, if no scripts exist for something on Windows, it's
claimed to be inaccessible. That's why people have review cursors. Use them.
That's just my opinion. That, and I don't like the dependency it enforces.
Wait, I said that already. Never mind.

Hi,
Well, I haven't found a way to have it speak chat messages, only incoming
calls, connecting calls, Who's going online and offline, when you sign in and
sign out and so-forth.

I totally agree with what Nic is saying here. This is especially true when you
find that the keystrokes people referr to are specific to the scripts and not
to the program itself.

And you can even have Skype speak messages back to you if desired.

Hi,
You don't have to go a long long way to beat independency, though. In truth, I
prefer the way VoiceOver does it, compared to scripts that have to be updated
every time the Skype design changes. I found that a pain, and I'm glad to be
done with scripts overall. They became especially annoy

Hello everyone,
Have you tried setting the Skype preferences so that a chat opens in a new
window? This makes it much easier to manage.

Yes, I agree, JFW support for Skype is pretty awesome. VO is very good though
although yes, there are instances where VO makes using certain aspects of Skype
like the Chat window cumbersome.

Hi Donal,
Well, I'm definitely glad I'm not the only one being driven crazy. I
haven't even tried to chat. I'd prefer to use it on the Mac, because
my PC doesn't have a built-in mic, and I don't have an external one to
hook up to it. But, maybe that's the way to go.

Hi Donna,
Aha so the thorny issue of Skype and VO raises its head again. I have to
admit I don't personally like the usability of skype with VO. Note here I'm
distinguishing between accessibility and usability. The latest version of
skype on the Mac has provided more accessibility (in that mor
