There is a blocking numbers feature under the settings / phone within IOS
Try looking at that and see if it gives you what you require.

I just checked this out to double check..
Tap on recents in the phone app and pick the number you are interested in. tap
on the more info button after the name of the number, or the number itself,
depending on how it shows up. Another screen will open. the first button you
see is ed

Step by step. Open the phone app. Open Recents. Locate the offending
entry. Swipe to More and open it. Single tap Favorites to put focus on
it, do not open Favorites. Swipe left one time. That should land you on
the Block button that is in the More screen.
